The Neighbourhood Development Fourm is holding a workshop on the growth area.
There is a lot happening; Ballymore is about to start construction; the former garden centre site is under construction on Iverson Road, and next door, the Iverson Tyres site has had planning permission granted; Regal Homes is starting work on demolishing Handrail house on Maygrove Road; 156 West End Lane (Travis Perkins) has been sold…
All of these projects are happening independently and there is little indication of joined up thinking. To get an overview the NDF is holding a small workshop next Saturday on the Growth Area.
It’s fairly full but there are a couple of spaces left – the NDF is particularly interested in getting getting a good mix so the input of some people who live in or adjacent to the growth area would be most welcome – especially those who don’t usually come to such meetings.
It’s not a drop-in event, if you’d like to come, please contact the organiser first via the e-mail button above.
10:00 meet in the basement of the Gallery bar (on Broadhurst Gardens) for coffee and welcome.
10:30 Open discussion of what is the growth area, what it includes – discuss model
11:30 – leave on walkabout. Past Ballymore, down to O2, back to Iverson Road, down to Maygrove and then back to Gallery
13:00 – Lunch
14:00 – feedback on walkabout
15:15 – tea break
15:30 – conclusion
The workshop will be run by Maja Luna Jorgensen of the Glass House assisted by Catherine Greig (an architect).
With the help of Catherine from the Glasshouse we are building a simple model of the growth area to help get an ‘overview’.
