Timber! Ballymore trees finally felled

This morning the trees on the Ballymore site, which have been the subject of so much protest, are being felled.

Cut logs are being piled up and a woodchipper is making short work of the spindly branches.

The petition that hoped to stop the removal of the trees reached 897 signatures.

    Do you work for Ballymore?

What an odd question. For one thing I’d have much better photos if I did.

This reckless decimation of our natural wildlife habitat is outrageous. The corporate financially motivated minds behind this need to think longer term and deeper. Glad I found out about this through the petition.

I must say you seem to be relishing even dare I say gloating over the destruction.

Clearly you do dare say, though quite how you interpret three short paragraphs of factual reporting as gloating is baffling. You’ve been reading the website long enough to have a better handle than that on how I approach such stories, and to know what my coverage of the whole West Hampstead Square saga has been over the past two years.

I reckon that commenter Kate is actually referring to your (jubilant?) Timber headline and 4 (four!)
    slasher pictures.
