Spiga pulls out all the stops — 3 Comments

  1. It’s obvious that the “review” isnt from professionels, some of the bad comments arent really constructives!
Such a shame nobody talked more about the products they use, the warm service, the freebies, etc…
It is indeed very good value for money, the set menu is great if you want a quick dinner during the week, usually on fridays we take the a la carte and a nice wine.
Definitely recommend the restaurant more than the post does…. come on people ! be nice 🙂

  2. Well, we all know how unpleasant professional critics can be, so not sure that point is entirely relevant! Having read the review, service and ingredients were indeed praised, and the review was balanced. The Spiga team are professionals and I'm sure would rather have constructive feedback than not. And there was plenty of well-deserved praise too, so I don't think this was TOO harsh?!

  3. Having been to numerous #whampreview evenings, I think it’s a good counterpoint having amateurs like myself airing their views on a restaurant. Like any review, it will be very subjective, but I believe having a multiple of people from varying backgrounds gives the review a degree of weight.

Ultimately it’s horses for courses and the chances are if you go on multiple evenings you’ll get differing experiences.

#whampreview in my opinion isn’t there to big up or slag off a restaurant. It’s more a case of ‘here’s the experience we had on this evening’

I didn’t go to this one at Spiga and I’ve yet to go this particular restaurant, but the review has not deterred me. In fact, were it not for the review, I wouldn’t actually be aware of Spiga in the first place!!
