A hands-on experience: Tui Na at Yi Dao — 8 Comments

  1. I have had several Tui Na massages here after years of osteopathy on my lower back, neck and shoulders, and found it to be much more helpful. Zarig at Yi Dao has also recommended a series of exercises that are nothing like the ones I have been advised to do for years, and which I find to be much better. I too like the fact that there is no hard sell here, just sound practical advice. I just wish I could afford to go every week.

  2. Hi Simon,

Glad to hear you've also had a positive experience. I appreciated the practical explanations and advice too. Hope you saw they're offering £30 vouchers over the Christmas period! A gift to yourself perhaps.

  3. Sorry, not a wine label. However, like a good bottle of Pinot Noir, you may experience a warming sensation and general feeling of wellbeing after a massage 🙂

  4. After reading this blog entry I brought a voucher as a present for my sister. She went for a traditional/relaxing massage as she wasn’t completely convinced by the Tu Nai technique and I must say that she had a terrible experience.

After the massage she told me she felt quite stiff, which I thought it was strange, as I often get massages and always feel releived afterwards. The day after she was in so much pain that she had to apply a voltaren patch.

I don’t normally write negative reviews, but I definitely cannot recommend this place.

  5. Hi Piru,

Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear about your sister's bad experience. Did she experience discomfort at the time of the massage and did she speak to the clinic about it? I found them very conscientious in finding out about my personal needs/ preferences both before and during my treatment.

  6. Hi Zen,

She didn't experience discomfort during the massage, only a bit of stiffness afterwards which became pain during the night.

I did recommend her to give feedback to the place itself, as it really seems to be very out of the norm to experience such consequences.

    • Hi Piru,
Thank you for the feedback and I am very sorry to hear about your sister’s bad experience.
We do take pride in our skills and service and value everybody’s experience of a visit to our clinic.
Her experience seems unusual as most of the feedback we get is very positive – we would welcome the opportunity to discuss with her what happened so please do encourage her to speak to us, and we will do our best to redress the situation.
