  2. Hate to be a grumpy old woman, but Kitchener rarely has what I want – and when it does, it is SO expensive, it is not worth buying. If they don’t have what you want, the staff try to sell you something else totally unsuitable. I find it pretentious and way over the top price-wise, and prefer to go down to Amy’s on Finchley Road. And I cook most of my meals from scratch and buy good quality fresh food from farmers’ markets, Borough Market and independent retailers, not supermarkets, so I should be an ideal customer for Kitchener.

  3. I also shop at Amy's, but it's a lot further away. I don't mind that Kitchener is aiming at the higher end of the market – it seems to be doing well so there's clearly a demand. At least it's an independent shop.

  4. On Saturday at the Christmas Fair I bought a lovely litle pillow embroidered "For the Tooth Fairy" and then I stupidly forgot to take the contact details of the seller. I will want to buy more things from her so I'd be grateful if anyone can help me!

  5. Hi Maggie, it could have been from Fortune Green Interiors, which has a shop on Fortune Green Rd. Or from something on my list as "Cushions & Lavender", but I'm afraid I don't have any contact details.

  6. Maggie, I think I've tracked it down. If you e-mail me your address (see mail link at the top right of this page) I'll send you the details.
